Matias Jimenez Joins the Phenoms as Travis Haven Sweeps Philadelphia Qualifier

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Matias Jimenez finished the Philadelphia Phenoms qualifier with more than a championship. After his victory over Elijah Chacon in the 170-pound final on September 26, owner Lauren Barone stepped onto the mat and offered him a place on the team’s Season 10 roster. Jimenez accepted, joining the franchise led by his older brother, head coach Roberto Jimenez.
That moment changed his path into the season. Matias is the Philadelphia qualifier champion at 170 pounds and a signed Phenom. He will not enter the Season 10 Draft pool, and his signing does not transfer this event’s 170-pound draft qualification to the runner-up.
Jimenez earns the title, then joins his brother in Philadelphia
Jimenez won four matches in the 22-athlete 170-pound bracket, defeating Israel Wilkes, Ronald Harrington, Bjorn Webber, and Chacon. All four victories came by decision after the six-minute regulation period. His consistency carried him through the field; the invitation from Barone gave the final a second ending.
For Philadelphia, the signing puts the younger Jimenez on the mat at 170 with Roberto directing the team as head coach. A qualifier built to open doors to the draft instead delivered a direct roster addition for the host franchise.
Haven does it again: three matches, three submissions
Travis Haven arrived with a reputation earned in the league. A standout for the Alabama Twisters last season, he had earned that season’s draft opportunity by winning a qualifier with submissions in every match. In Doylestown, he repeated the sweep to secure his place in the Season 10 Draft.
After an opening bye, Haven submitted Alejandro Mayorga with a heel hook at 1:00, Anthony Salisbury with an ankle lock at 2:16, and Nathanael Schwartz with a heel hook at 0:53 in the final. Three contested matches, three submissions, and 4:09 of total match time: Haven looked a level above the 185-pound field.

Haven’s title earns a draft spot, not an assignment back to Alabama or a signing with Philadelphia. His next team will be determined through the Season 10 Draft.

Nicholas DiGiacomo took the 145-pound title with three decision wins, closing against Thomas Brandenburger. At 155, Diallo Braithwaite finished Logan Marshall with an arm-triangle choke at 4:29 in the final. Steve Joachim won the 205-pound bracket, submitting Mark Jack and Jared Ridges before taking a six-minute decision over Sergio Vilas for the championship.
DiGiacomo, Braithwaite, Haven, and Joachim join the draft pool. Jimenez appears on Philadelphia’s signed roster while retaining his place in the official qualifier results.
