Torres Meza sweeps 145 with leg locks

Bujutsu’s Alexis Torres Meza received an opening bye, then submitted Ryan Fedigan with an inside heel hook in 2:32 and Isaiah Mejia with an ankle lock in 1:11. He finished Kaimoni Operana with another ankle lock at 2:06 in the championship match, completing three submission wins in 5:49 of total match time.

Operana had put together a three-armbar run of his own: 35 seconds against Jonathan Guzman, 1:21 against Samson Phommabout, and a flying armbar at 46 seconds against Ryan Elgarico. Torres Meza stopped that run in the final. Elgarico and Mejia shared bronze, and nine of the division’s ten contested matches ended by submission.

Branscum wins an all-local 155-pound final

Brady Branscum of 10th Planet Las Vegas won both of his contested matches by decision, first against Alexis Ortiz and then against teammate Adam Franck in the final. Both bouts ran the full six minutes.

Franck reached the championship match with rear-naked chokes over Jae Abrams in 3:40 and Noel Cordero in 4:18. Cordero and Ortiz took the two bronze places.

Olivo submits Fekete, Bowers, and Kilpatrick at 170

Kris Olivo of Potential Jiu Jitsu opened with a flying triangle choke over returning PGF veteran Jared Fekete in 2:26, then submitted JJ Bowers with an ankle lock in 1:10. Garrett Kilpatrick awaited in the final after a kneebar over Nicholas Priola and a rear-naked choke over Kekoa Canullo.

Olivo secured the title with a heel hook at 5:25, completing three submission victories in 9:01. All seven matches in the 170-pound bracket ended by submission. Canullo and Bowers shared bronze.

Horn finds the finish with eight seconds left

London Horn of Red Hawk Academy opened his contested run with a six-minute decision over Kevin Crane. In the final, he faced Stephen Martinez of Peerless Jiu Jitsu Academy, who had submitted Lucas Mooney with a triangle choke in just 30 seconds in the semifinal.

Horn finished Martinez with an ankle lock at 5:52 — eight seconds before regulation expired — to claim the 185-pound title. Crane and Mooney shared bronze.

Rogers takes heavyweight gold

Shane Rogers of Hybrid Jiu Jitsu received an opening bye, submitted Ethan Wagner with a rear-naked choke in 2:32, and defeated Fedor Nikolov by decision after six minutes in the 205-pound final.

Nikolov reached the final with a triangle choke over Anthony Hubbard at 1:31 and a decision over Alberto Flores Velazquez. Wagner and Flores Velazquez took bronze. All five divisions used double-bronze brackets, with no third-place bouts; opening byes are excluded from the contested-match totals.
